Ad Campaigns Are Not Created, They're Built

It would be amazing if we could just launch the perfect ad campaign right out of the gate. But the truth is that it takes some time and testing to get your campaigns optimized.

I just read something on Neil Patel's blog that I absolutely love. He said a great ad campaign on Facebook and Instagram is not created. It's built. And I love this because it really shows the power of Facebook ads in that you can create a campaign, you can launch it, you can get the data right away, and then you can make a new campaign based on what you've learned from the numbers. And in this way, you can iterate going forward and really build on what you’ve learned. And you're going to start building your campaign with a really solid foundation. And this is your ad strategy. So it's going to include your campaign types, your objectives, how you're going to structure the campaign to take the most advantage of Facebook's algorithm, how you're going to split up your budget and also your ad funnels. So how you're going to lead people through the purchase process with you. From there, you're going to build on that with testing, targeting and audiences, testing your marketing angles, or positioning for the product, and then build on that with testing creative, like your media, your images and videos, your copy, headlines, calls to action. There are so many moving pieces with Facebook ads. So you can't just launch a campaign and assume that if you don't get results right out of the gate, Facebook ads aren't going to work for you because a great Facebook ad campaign needs to be built through ongoing testing, optimization, and iteration.
